Sebastian Vettel leaves fans baffled as F1 star shows off completely different hairstyle

Former F1 world champion Sebastian Vettel has left fans stunned after showing off his new hairdo ahead of the upcoming 2022 campaign.

Vettel is currently on the books of Aston Martin, who finished seventh in last year's F1 championship.

But the four-time champion had fans buzzing on social media after his appearance at the brand's new car launch on Thursday.

Vettel was sporting a much fuller, curly mane during the event - a far cry from the recent short style that the German has been seen with in recent years.

And fans wasted no time in flocking to social media to speak about Vettel's new look.

One fan gave the new look a seal of approval by posting: "I've got to get in contact with his hair guy".

Another cheekily quipped: "Prince William to Prince Harry," making light of Vettel's previous shaved look.

One user tweeted: "That’s a mop on his head," while another took a playful swipe at Vettel's old team, Ferrari, by posting: "Ferrari to Aston Martin the evolution".

As well as unveiling Aston Martin's sleek new model, the AMR22, ahead of the new F1 campaign, Vettel also spoke out in defence of Michael Masi.

The F1 chief has been under fire ever since the conclusion to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix; where late drama and a controversial decision from the Australian enabled Max Verstappen to pip Lewis Hamilton to the world title.

But Vettel has backed Masi by insisting that the onus should be on making the rules clearer rather than continuing to chastise the Race Director.

"Absolutely wrong," said Vettel on Thursday. "It's [shameful] that it's all focused on one man.

"He probably had a very, very difficult position on that day and we probably should focus on making the rules better and more clear, so it's better for everyone.

"I think it's completely wrong. I don't understand why there's been so much focus on him. I think he was trying to do the best job he could."
